Now that I have finished with Wolf's Rain, I am looking for a new series to get involved with. Does anybody have any suggestions? The only series I have followed up until now are Yu Yu and Wolf's Rain. The movies I have are Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and both Vampire Hunter D movies. I'm interested in any suggestions, but mostly watch dark fantasy or horror. Thanks for any input.

Damn, how could i forget Cowboy Bebop, only second to WR. Also, i think that you will find Paranoia Agent to be quite interesting.

Grave of the Fireflies.
It's a classic. The very first anime movie I ever saw. It's a sentimental war movie about a boy and his little sister.
I've been meaning to get into Dragon Drive...it seems like it just might be like an upgraded version of Pokemon or Digimon, but with better animation.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've started following Samurai Champloo and Full Metal Alchemist. I'm going to try to find some of the others on DVD when I have more cash (whenever that is).

Ugh, Vampiter Hunter D, I'm not going to lie, that was one of the worst anime movies I've ever seen.
You might be interested in Last Exile, not quite as dark as some others, but fantasic. I JUST made a thread about Elfen Lied too, which if you're look for DARK fantasy, is perfect for you. Go read my absurdly terse synopsis about it.
X is another black fantasy I saw not long ago. I wasn't a huge fan, but it's a necessary classic to view.
Ruruoni Kenshin and Inu Yasha are dark fantasies??? Yeeaaaaaaah...I guessed I miss THOSE episodes.

Bleach, Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist are definitely among my favorites, but I wouldn't classify any of them as dark fantasy or horror. Since I'm not really into either of those genres, I don't have much to recommend. However, you could always check out www.animenfo.com/ to browse by genre.

Perfect Blue is a dark modern-day thriller, something in the same fashion as Paranoia Agent, only a little more literal. I saw it a few months ago on Anime Unleashed and really liked it.

Ya most of those animes are great suggestions. But if you like Wolfs Rain, the voice actors, some shoot em ups. Heres the a great list. First off Gungrave by far one of the best attempts to put an Italian twist into anime and I have to buff it since I worked on it. but from a reviewers point Like Trigun(ill talk about it in a little bit if you havnt seen it) it defines the shooter genre in anime. Trigun-While the title maybe misleading this anime gave Cowboy Bebop a run for the money. It not only combines a non-whats the word deathly element to guns and at times a seriousness and sadness that can tear your heart to pieces much the same as Wolfs rain but in such a way that only Geneon could do. This is the true juggernaut of defining this genre. Last Exile-While yes it does start off as what seems like a crappy little anime it still puts out characters that make you think of wolfs rain. Like Alex for example ;D . But goes out with style but remember ladies and gentlemen when looking for a lifelong friend whos suppose to be flying with you do not crawl ontop of theaircraft for turbulence at that speed may cause you to take an unpleasent dive to speak of. (those of you that have seen the last few episodes you know what I mean.) Sup a SUpa say what-Samurai Champloo- A classic the only thing more original and stupendous is putting cowboys against samurai. While from the title you may think this is Japanese all over at heart its got funny seriousness that just makes want to count down the minutes for the next one. Ghost in the Shell: While it gets off to a slow start this blast made off of the movie from the past will shortly make you understand why the movie was such a hit. Full Metal Alchemist-Or as my good buddy Adam Sessler says Full Metal Jacket (that was a joke from Xplay no it has nothing to do with killing a cop) this is for the ultimate and new fans to anime to stand by. Its witty yet it has a serious dark side to it like a TV series I used to know called Firefly while its hystarical at times the mood of the show goes for scary no seriously scary mood. I dont know if you like to laugh and even get a little remorsful at times but still have a element of evil then this is probably the best anime for you. The reason for the rest of you that I know care I didnt list Gundam Wing is because its what we and alot of other people call the Cookie Cutter anime Genre or better known as Copy and Paste. Because the style in which they draw it has no shading to it whatsoever. Not to mention for those of you that miss your gundam seed characters can now find them on Sy cr ed. Sorry the list got so long Ghost in the Shell 2nd gig-This is probably one of the best sequels Ive seen in anime because of the ohh..................................ya..................um................sorry ......................................forgot about it not being out yet .....................................um just look forward to it........................................ya
