SPOON! Anyway, as for a saddest song...
That song at the end of Cowboy Bebop (last episode)
Would have been SO good if the femal vocalist hadn't mispronounced "clearer". (She sang "clealer". Very nearly ruined the effect.)

That would be 'Blue" by Mai Yamane.
I cant say i had any problem with her delivery though, love that song.

Blue was definetly a sad song to end the Cowboy Bebop series. Mai Yamane actually has a masculinity to her voice, but I think it fits perfectly. Heh. Yoko Kanno sings in the background too. She goes by "Gabriela Robin".

The Long and Winding Road by The Beatles
The long and winding road That leads to your door Will never disappear I’ve seen that road before It always leads me her Lead me to you door
The wild and windy night That the rain washed away Has left a pool of tears Crying for the day Why leave me standing here Let me know the way
Many times I’ve been alone And many times I’ve cried Any way you’ll never know The many ways I’ve tried
But still they lead me back To the long winding road You left me standing here A long long time ago Don’t leave me waiting here Lead me to your door
But still they lead me back To the long winding road You left me standing here A long long time ago Don’t leave me waiting here Lead me to your door Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Let It Be by The Beatles
When I find myself in times of trouble Mother mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people Living in the world agree, There will be an answer, let it be. For though they may be parted there is Still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be. Let it be, let it be. yeah There will be an answer, let it be.
And when the night is cloudy, There is still a light that shines on me, Shine on until tomorrow, let it be. I wake up to the sound of music Mother mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be. There will be an answer, let it be. Let it be, let it be, Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

Cody by Mogwai
Of all I knew, her held too few. And would you stop me, if I try to stop you.
Old songs stay 'til the end. Sad songs remind me of friends. And the way it is, I could leave it all And I ask myself, would you care at all.
When I drive alone at night, I see the streetlights as fairgrounds And I tried a hundred times to see the road signs as Day-Glo.
Old songs, stay till the end. Sad songs, remind me of friends. And the way it is, I could leave it all And I ask myself, would you care at all.

Here is another one... It's a rare Elton John song... Featured on "Madman Across the Water."
Goodbye:
And now that it's all over The birds can nest again I'll only snow when the sun comes out I'll shine only when it starts to rain
And if you want a drink Just squeeze my hand And wine will flow into the land And feed my lambs
For I am a mirror I can reflect the moon I will write songs for you I'll be your silver spoon
I'm sorry I took your time I am the poem that doesn't rhyme
Just turn back a page I'll waste away, I'll waste away I'll waste away, I'll waste away I'll waste away, I'll waste away

Cats in the Cradle is my favorite!!! I've absolutley hated the song since i first heard it but i felt it was worth posting, its very well written and all that but the whole father/son thing is too depressing for my tastes.

I think Stairway to Heaven by Zeppelin is a really sad song and an awesome song at the same time.
