i don't understand the logic in using pseudonyms, especially when they're as creative as "Johnny Jay Bosch". doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose? and who do they think they're fooling, their voices will be recognized anywhere. XD and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn... man, i wish my voice was as sexy awesome as hers. she gets bonus points for not only being a VA in tons of anime, but many times also a member of the staff. I don't think they are trying to fool anyone....is like typing pen1s, instead of thingy. You see, the censors won't allow me to type out the word, so I found a way to type it just by modifying one letter. It is the same with the VAs, they know they can't do non-union jobs with their real name. So, they just modify it a bit, they know they won't fool anyone, but at least legally, they won't face any trouble. But as of now, I believe the union caught up with them, and now not even Blum does any more non-union jobs. I believe Mary Elizabeth McGlynn was heavily involved in the English dubbing process.....and we all know that Wolf's Rain dub is one of the best out there. She also does the voice for Motoko Kusanagi....my second favorite female character..... Seriously though, you have to why he does it since he has one of those "identifiable" voices. He's not trying to fool anyone.....but I think he found it quite enjoyable to keep coming up with new names......Roger Smith ;D

hmm, so by your logic that means i can bubble in 'hispanic' on a standardized test and receive benefits from the affirmative action plan, right? i'm not trying to fool anyone, but i know i can't legally qualify for affirmative action as white or asian and there's no way they can catch me because they can't discriminate against me if i don't have a hispanic last name.
j/k, j/k, i just thought of that since today one of my friends was ranting about how crappy AA is (i completely agree). XP
back on topic, so now VA's will get in trouble working outside of their union, even with a pseudonym? where'd you hear this?

I'm hispanic....so AA all the way....and tell your friend to stop bitching. ;D Well, that is just a conclusion I made, since most voice actors nowadays are all doing union jobs. Either they were getting in trouble or they are now receiving more benefits from being in the union. Not sure. If you want more info, you can do some research on the Screen Actors' Guild, or AFTRA. Sean should've learned his lesson by now.... You know, in my school, all the asian students were in honor classes.....is it in your genes or something? There are some exceptions though.....there were two Asian female students repeating English(sophomore year) in the summer with me.

Sean. My opinion>a child's opinion>your opinion ;D Speaking of AA, I'm part Native American so I can qualify, but the government demands that I show proof...does anyone else have to show proof of their heritage? Or do they just look at your last name and skin color? I don't know, it just seems that Native Americans keep getting the short end of the stick. At any rate, I can't prove that I'm Native American because the names of families were taken down at the reservation, and my family never went to the reservation...they hid out in the mountains until the U.S. Army passed them by. Therefore, my family’s name never got on the list, so I'm out of luck. But on the other hand, it would be dishonorable to ask the government (who had a hand in the holocaust of my people) for help, you know what I mean? Anyway, not that I'm against the government, America or anything like that, it just irks me that the government has yet to acknowledge or apologize for what they did to the Native American people. Because in my opinion...the American Government was as bad to the Native Americans as was Nazi Germany to the Jews. Anyway, enough of my ramble....moving on.

Freaken government and its hypocracy.....
But back on topic, I'm sure AS skipped some episodes in the second run of Wolf's Rain. Does anyone remember which episodes they skipped?

You know, in my school, all the asian students were in honor classes.....is it in your genes or something? i think so, actually... i'm half white so i wouldn't know for sure, but the majority of my friends are asian and they're ALL GPA wh0res. seriously, no one has a life in my circle of friends. ;D including me of course. Speaking of AA, I'm part Native American so I can qualify, but the government demands that I show proof...does anyone else have to show proof of their heritage? Or do they just look at your last name and skin color? I don't know, it just seems that Native Americans keep getting the short end of the stick. Because in my opinion...the American Government was as bad to the Native Americans as was Nazi Germany to the Jews. wow, Golden, are you Cherokee? your family in hiding story kind of reminds me of when the US army forced the Cherokees out of georgia in the 1830s... oh man, the fact that i'm remembering this tells me i've been doing AP US history homework for too long... i also know what it's like to not really have proof of heritage, since i don't look asian at all and my last name is german. and yeah, the whole trail of tears movement was like the holocaust but i'm guessing the government hasn't made any formal apology (i thought it did...?) since it would just bring up bad feelings and not satisfy a lot of people anyway. think descendants of "ex-slaves" and how well giving reparations worked. XP but anyways, when was the last time [AS] aired WR? i honestly don't remember... the only episodes i can ever recall them skipping are the recaps. i mean, they can't skip too many episodes of a series or they'll lose people (if they aren't lost already, of course).

3-15-05 I think was the date it was replaced by Trigun on the weekday line-up and it never returned....
It had three runs on AS, one run on Saturdays, and two runs on weekdays....during the second run, they skipped some episodes, not the recaps(they never aired those), I believe they skipped 3 or 2 episodes....

well, now that i think of it there was a time when it seemed like they were playing them in random order. i mean, the episodes that actually got me into WR were the very last ones, when i hadn't even seen the ones leading up to that point (go figure).
i think they might've skipped a few episodes towards the end, so they could show the OVA. didn't they repeat it more than once?

Let's see....memory work with me.....I believe they skipped the Jagara related episodes....25 and 26 I think.....
They showed all of it during the first run.
They showed most of it during the second run.
They showed all of it during the third run.
And after the third run, I believe they aired episode 1 and 2.

it seemed to me like they repeated the OVA more than once in a row... or maybe i just don't remember whether what i was watching was actually on TV or taped (since i taped the OVAs when [AS] repeated at 1 am, that's how intrigued i was by them). XD
however, i'm not that sad that WR isn't aired anymore, since i have all of the DVDs anyway. that and i hated how the opening/full ending was never shown.

I've got all the DVDs as well....costed a hell lot of money.
I was never bothered they didn't air the stray opening.....really didn't like that song.
But I was pissed when I found out they cut out the prologue of episode 26 and the prologue of 27. They cut out vital information there.....bastards.

yes, that too. in the beginning ep. 29 i was like, "WTF? how did this happen again?" stray took me a little while to warm up to. i love almost all of the songs on both OSTs. and on top of the DVDs, manga, and miscellanous merchandise i'd say WR alone has cost me a little upwards of $200. and i don't have a job either. let's say for a couple of weeks before a con i wouldn't be eating lunch at school...
