Soo.. anyone else ever watched the anime "Gravitation?" Also, I'm pretty sure that there's only 13 episodes (excluding the OVAs), but I'm not certain.. would anyone know? Anyway, I just felt like starting a thread about it, because.. uhm.. I'm bored.

I've never actually seen this show which is odd since I have a pretty good shonen-ai/yaoi collection.I read the first volume of the manga quite awhile ago.It's cute,and I'm planning on buying the series(both manga and anime) soon.
Did the OVA come before the telelvision series?Oh and is the television series a retelling of the OVA or a continuation?

The OVA came before the television series, and I think it's totally different than the regular show. (Besides the yaoi, Shuichi being in a band, idolizing Ryuichi, etc.) I think Yuki's writing the lyrics for their band in the OVA.. I think. Also, I've watched the rest of the series by now, and I can say I agree that it's the cutest romance anime.. like.. ever. A bit depressing towards the ending, though.. It comes out better.

I -only- saw it and LOVED it! >:E But in seriousness, I did LOVE IT! The manga goes into much more detail, but the anime and manga are almost entirely the same except they cut some parts out from the anime. But the anime is SO cute! I can't -stand- the dubbed voices, but I'm not sure I dig Shui-chan's Japanese actor. I always thought him a bit more soft-spoken, shy even. He sounds like a tough guy or something. And I thought Yuki's voice should be a little more..smooth. Soft. Like English Kiba, but Japanese. The english dub just plain sucks. >.< You -need- to read the manga, girl. It is so much better and yummy. ^____^;

It's a shonen-ai story about a singer in a band struggling to make it and how a chance encounter changes his world forever when he meets the one he loves, and the mayhem that ensues. It's choice. And Yuki is adorably gorgous, even if he is a *@#!( and he smokes.

Ahhhhhhhh I absolutely LOVE Gravitation! I've read 1-8 of the manga (own volumes 6, 7, and 8), and I own the entire animated series (the ova hasn't been released in america, but i have the episodes burned onto cd's from downloading them in fansubs).
dude, I was obsessed with the show before I even saw it. Last july, I bought a copy of animerica magazine, and that was where I first found out about it. There was a tiny review for the first dvd, and the minute I read that it was shounen-ai, I was all over it. I even started drawing fanart before buying the first dvd. XD
It was a big disappointment how awful the english voice acting was, though. Gravitation is a big hit in the manga department, and you'd thinkt hat once turned into an anime, the top animators and voice actors would've been happy to work with it. But no, it's american procustion was liscenced by RightStuf, and sucky actors who know one's ever heard of before. The animation is bad too. So yeah, I stick to the manga and japanese version of the anime.
Enough complaining though. It's a very charming story, and I really do love it alot. The character designs are wonderful, and I'm in love with every single one of the songs (Shining Collection be my favorite!) Ryuichi's my alltime favorite character, I love him so much. He's just so adorable ^^. Him and Shuichi are my favorite pairing from the show, believe it or not XD.

Gravitation is amazing. The art, storyline, humor, romance. It's all so well done. I've seen and own the series, OVA's, and manga. It's godly. K is so great! **glomps teh K stuffie**

I disagree I think the Japanese version of the series had a number of the best voice actors around! My trigger to watching the series was the same as Stray Pup's, except I was surfing pictures of the series on the net when I stumbled upon Yuki's.
