I have found this information on one of Studio Bones interviews in the japanese TV about fullmetal alchemist being compared to wolf's rain One of the representatives of studio BONES said : " Fullmetal alchemist is a true master piece , there are very fiew grafic mistakes , although the theme isn't as that emotional as one of ower animes called ' Wolf's Rain' , which contained many deep thoughts about life and dreams, but is graphicaly amazing it was a true dream come true when we finally finished ower second DVD " What do you guys think of that ?? I mean (don't kill me) WR has a bit of serious graphical mistakes or some of the drawings are a bit improportional ( I still think it's a fabiolous anime so please just no offence I have spotted one major mistake here look at kibas eyes ( they look in separate directions ) : if the picture doesn't show up click on www.lioncrusher.com/wolfsrain/images/wolfsrain/01-40.jpg

I have spotted one major mistake here look at kibas eyes ( they look in separate directions ) they look like they're looking in the same direction to me. besides, FMA is probably the more popular one because it doesn't make you think as much as Wolf's Rain does. and you know how lazy society is, they just want everything spelled out to them. i'm not too surprised by any of that information, actually. ;D

they're just lazy. ;D it's the last image on the episode 1 page. the world is FULL of lazy people, and, at least to me, the eyes don't look THAT off... sure, one iris/pupil is farther from the center, but the other is close enough to the center he could be looking slightly to the side.

... the picture looks fine to me. Perhaps the eye is off one 50th of a millimeter. That definitely makes FMA a better anime. on a side-note, i like FMA but its animation is not as good as WR in my opinion.

I like FMA but it didn't effect me as much as wolf's rain. FMA is pretty simple to follow there is not as much drama in it as wolf's rain. You don't really have to think to much when watching FMA. Don't get me wrong it has drama but they even it out with humour. WR didn't really do that. Also I think wr appeals to only a certain crowd. Where as FMA is a bit like sailor moon where it can appeal to alot of people, children-adults. If you think about FMA is a bit like harry potter, the way the plot twist and the characters change.

Yeah WR is a more "mature" show than most. Not in inappropriate-wise but thinking-wise as well as storyline/drama.

I also think that WR is more mature and of course It is a great anime ... Thank you that you have shared your oppinions . Yes indeed FMA does'nt involve any real thinking and some of part's are very lame ( especially the part with the chopper ) WrR could be considered also as an adult anime , I mean some of the thoughts are very hard for kids to understand ...

Wolf's Rain and Fullmetal Alchemist are both great anime: Both make you think, both have a good deal of philosophy and drama and darkness, and both are good at tugging on your heart strings and making you really care about the characters. Wolf's Rain is more serious and realistic, with no facefaulting or deformity, but Fullmetal Alchemist is more direct, sucking you into the story immediately, instead of drawing it out slowly. It's a matter of personal taste, really. Both are high quality, but Fullmetal gets more play because it has obvious humor, so it appeals to more people. Wolf's Rain, you have to sit and pay close attention to get the humor, otherwise it'll go right over your head.
I've had people tell me they didn't like Wolf's Rain because "there's no humor whatsoever". They clearly weren't well acquainted with Hige and Toboe's antics, or Tsume and Kiba's one-liners. (Walking sideshow, the lot of them).

I personally like both for different reasons, as well as the same. Both have superb animation. FMA is a little more heartwarming, as far out as alchemy seems from everyday life, it hits a little closer to home. Though the themes aren't as deep as WR, and the emotions seem a little more apparent and forced, I really like the relationship between Al and Ed. Wolf's Rain, on the other hand, is an anime to make you think, an anime with a lot of hidden meaning that can only be found upon watching an episode the second or third time around and this is no problem for me. It's a lot more crucial than FMA, a little more serious. I like my anime to make me think. I don't necessarily need eye-bugging, sweatdropping humor on my television if the show is that good and doesn't need it. That, and WR has better music;)

honestly i think FMA is a better anime, but WR is right behind it. i love watching it, especially the emotional highs in it. and ya the music is a little bit better in WR

I suppose so it all depends on peoples point of views I mean FMA is very pleasing graphically but some of the scenes or character lines were a bit too empty, Though it is a really magnificant anime
