I've had people tell me they didn't like Wolf's Rain because "there's no humor whatsoever". They clearly weren't well acquainted with Hige and Toboe's antics, or Tsume and Kiba's one-liners. (Walking sideshow, the lot of them). I so agree with you. There's plenty of humor, just not animated retardedly. Cher/Blue crack me up with those skateboarders (who altogether make me laugh) when one of them says "damn this one is even younger and prettier than the blonde" and it shows cher so pissed off. It has its share of humor, but its not so utterly wacky that you lose sight of the animation or storyline.

Indeed WR is full of humor , but I suppose that sarcasm and irony are mostly used . I am not sure about the fact how you guys find Quent , but for me he is a typical example of being the "clown in the show" . His life style and depression ( I know this may sound very cold) is very much so hilarious ... It of course depends on the audiences point of view , but I find him in some situations as a representative of the "dark" humor and typical irony ... As for FMA there is a lot of simple humor very easy to guess and have a laugh about , especially for the little kids ...

Theres also the road trip with quent and hubb, and the funny divorce pairing between hubb and cher in the beginning, and other funny crap. It's just not blatantly all the characters becoming little cartoon faces and getting angry at eachother.

I always thought of Hige and Toboe to be quite funny during episodes. It still cracks me up during the episode where they meet the old lunar flower. Hige and Toboe are walking through the town talking about their gifts when Toboe says he heard the cats talk about a ghost. Then they turn around to see that old lady followin' them and they both take off screamin. It was funny but different from FMA's humor. Wolf's Rain is full of humor like everyone else said it's just easily lost on younger audiences that are used to animes that make big funny faces and little blood veins to express their um... humor, like you all said.

I have found this information on one of Studio Bones interviews in the japanese TV about fullmetal alchemist being compared to wolf's rain One of the representatives of studio BONES said : " Fullmetal alchemist is a true master piece , there are very fiew grafic mistakes , although the theme isn't as that emotional as one of ower animes called ' Wolf's Rain' , which contained many deep thoughts about life and dreams, but is graphicaly amazing it was a true dream come true when we finally finished ower second DVD " What do you guys think of that ?? I mean (don't kill me) WR has a bit of serious graphical mistakes or some of the drawings are a bit improportional ( I still think it's a fabiolous anime so please just no offence I have spotted one major mistake here look at kibas eyes ( they look in separate directions ) : if the picture doesn't show up click on www.lioncrusher.com/wolfsrain/images/wolfsrain/01-40.jpgwell everything is opinion or well most things are anyway to prove the point of that...its all a matter of who you ask...over here in the states a food store i work for Wegmans got voted number one by employess for being the best place to work...well all of my friend and myself included that work there agree that and the fact they never asked us to vote in other words its all about who you ask

I've not seen FMA yet, but i was told that it's quite the great show...i'm still unsure about buying it, do you think it is worth? You know i've become wary when i see that anime series have more than 25 episodes, cause i had really a bad experience with the first anime show i watched. Now that i've watched WR i've understood that japanese anime can reach a quality peak like no others in this domain! Now i have this feeling that nothing more can appeal to me like WR did...

Same here. I dont htink ill ever like another aniem as much as WR. I have Netflix, so i ordered the first 2 volumes off of their to check it out. That, and i have seen some episodes on AS. It's a good anime show, but not as good as WR in my opinion.

When you say AS you mean Angel sanctuary right? I watched that too. I liked VERY much, so much that i read all the manga after having seen it. After having read all the story i realized that they had cut the anime right at the point where my fave manga character was meant to come to the scene. The disappointment made me reconsider all the anime...and i think that there are too many characters!!! And they are all so beautiful and all alike that i couldn't remember all their name...i know this sounds lame but it's the truth.
Another movie i liked was Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (spirited away). and then i was said that mononoke princess is kinda like that, so i was thinking of ordering it. Ah, and noone here has seen Cowboy Bebop? It seems to be a very loved anime
