Kids technically should not watch immature things. And no, not all kids are immature... I wouldn't go so far as to say kids in general are immature. Most properly raised kids are aware of other people's feelings (at least kids older then them, they may not be mature to siblings, or younger kids, friends, etc...)

Nevermind, go ahead and slit each others throats over a show then.

Okay... seeing how quite a bit of kids do watch Yu-Gi-Oh! If it was an immature show, their parents would not allow their kids to watch it Wow...that's idealistic as hell, Sean. I guess parents around where you live are different than the majority of parents I know. Parents don't pay attention to what their kids watch. They set kids down in fromt of the TV and go about doing their business. And so the kids sit and they watch Yu-Gi-Oh, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, any one of the ten-million Batman cartoons that have been made, all of them in actuality when you look at them: no better than the next. A great portion of parents out there don't care if a show is mature, or teaches good morals which is why kids are so screwed up nowadays to begin with. Once their kid outgrows the kiddie shit you can buy on tape, the baby Mozart, the Baby Einstein, etc, television is up for grabs. They just care if the show keeps the kid from bothering them for an hour or two.

Mmm... yeah it's not like that where I live. Of course there are some parents like that. But my 2 aunts monitor everything their kids watch. They are a little too overprotective though...
Television doesn't raise bad kids. Parents raise bad kids (wether they intend to or not)

If 4Kids would've left the background music alone, then it wouldn't be stupid in my opinion. And they ruin the animes, too, like taking out the good stuff, and all that crap they do.

You know, most of this topic has been about defending this show against the ones that don't like it, when in reality if they hate it so much then why are they even in this thread? It's to discuss this show, not to argue about who does and don't like it. We certainly wouldn't put up with someone getting on this Wolf's Rain forum trashing Wolf's Rain would we? So why should those that would truely like to discuss Yu-Gi-Oh!, despite the fact others may hate it, have to listen to those that don't. It's like, if you don't like it then stay out of the thread, or is it not allowed for us to enjoy something just because some others don't?

It's like, if you don't like it then stay out of the thread, or is it not allowed for us to enjoy something just because some others don't? Well, a lot of people who hate it are in this thread to discuss why they hate it. Just as the people in this thread who like it are here to discuss why they like it. And then there are just your generic not a very nice persons who come and spew and spit, but we'll ignore them. Those who like it will have to listen to those who don't because that is the "attempted" nonbias of the internet forum. Robust discussion is only best when both sides of the spectrum are able to be made available. Personally, I wouldn't care if someone came here, trashing Wolf's Rain as long as they did it tastefully and gave reasons as to why they feel like it's a big, steaming pile of trash and not just going OMG itz STOOOPID!!!! Wulves cant talk or turn N 2 Peeple1!!!!!!11111!!! . I could then combat their opinions with my own. But are we not discussing Yu-Gi-Oh? I'd say we are. Some people like it, some people don't. It's reality. The way things are. And I'd say real discussion is better than the fabrication created that everyone likes Yu-Gi-Oh because the people who don't like it refrain from posting. Every other day, I have to listen to people who trash my job, I have to put up with hearing about somebody else from my hometown who had a swastika painted on their garage door, hear people talk about how much the food I serve sucks, and I can't silence them. I can't just hear what I want to hear. Besides, if you like the show that much, you won't care what anyone else has to say about it. You can enjoy whatever you want.

I really enjoyed the battle between Yami and Marik. That was a pretty cool battle.... pretty darn spiffy.
I wonder whats up next for Yugi, seeing as how they defeated Darts (or Dartz or h/e you spell it) in the Waking the Dragons series

Well yes this is true, but most of the posts aren't about anything than how kiddy it is. How many people have to say that, and how many of the same people have to say it again? It doesn't add to the discussion saying the same thing over and over. Shouldn't we already know this from it being posted before, and putting other members down also for liking the show is another reason I posted the above. If someone gets in here saying they like it then why do we have to put up with, "Dude I can't believe you like this, I thought you were more mature than that." I don't think comments like that count as part of the "natural" discussion since its in a sublte way, flaming. I'm mean sure let others get on here and talk about how they don't like it, but must the ones that do like it have to be flamed for liking it? You people always claim that it doesn't matter what others like, and that everyone that does like it should ignore it, but how can we when people not only put down the show, but us too.

I saw three eps and thought " The hell? Why was everyone making Yu-Gi-Oh their bitch when it's not even THAT bad." From what I saw, it's not insanely unbelievably kiddy or immature, maybe just a bit though. Yeah, it's a bit corny too, but thats alright. Of course I respect everyone's opinions, whether you hate it or love it, if you wanna say why you hate it then go ahead. There's no reason why you shouldn't, it's a public forum so voice your thoughts. If you love it then fine, I haven't seen anyone here that's bashed someone's tastes for liking a show. If a forum member considers the show kiddy it doesn't offend me. Not everyone see's eye to eye, just like not everyone found Wolf's Rain to be engaging. In the end whatever floats your boat... well, floats your boat.

You haven't saw anyone bash someone for liking a show huh?
"a topic has to contain discussion value. u cant just post a topic saying "post here if u like this"... did you read the rules?!
also, how the hell can youi like yugioh and wolfs rain at the same time...?
i hope you know where you are. this is a forum, we discuss things. you cant spam and say "OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW!! IT ROXX!!" thats what chatrooms are for. « Last Edit: May 17th, 2005 at 8:50pm by Scarred Wolf » "

"Wolf's Rain and Yu-Gi-Oh aren't even the same league. And by that I mean, Yu-Gi-Oh is in a league of craptastic kiddie anime designed to make money off of card-freak pre-teens. "-Shamdeo
"Yu-Gi-Oh! is just Pokemon and Digimon for Dummies. "-g/f killer (whiskers)

man, is that sad. im here for you if you want to talk. " -Scarred
So yeah... there have been quite a bit of bashing and putting down people who like it

C'mon dude. Please tell me you realized that I was inferring about the current squabble started by me. No, since my post that revived this topic, there hasn't been "flames" flying around like before. I stated this already.
( but like I said before, yeah, people did bash the hell outta the show. which is why I pondered the reasoning for it when what I saw of it wasn't that bad, as of now, all that's been said recently was it's kiddy and immature. armand flirted with bashing after you flamed PA)

Well I saw a few flames here and there on the ones that said they liked it, but I won't point them out due to arguments sake. I'm sorry if I started something.

Wow. This is kinda a bs thread Rinoa, in a way. The person who started it didnt have discussional value, as i said and was quoted on. The original topic was "do u like it?" its a question. Im fairly sure people are free to answer that question, no one said anything rude or vulgar, everyone answered (u 5 dev, rinoa, sean, elastigurl, and toby being the exception) no. No one said it sucked or was stupid, i merely stated it was too much for children for me to enjoy. Sure, you guys may be teens and adults watching it and liking it, but you cannot deny the pure fact that it was INTENDED for children.
