Well, i thought that some of you might find this information interesting.
Well, FMA the movie made its debute in Japan last Saturday and it came third at the box office. The first spot belonged to Star Wars Episode 3: blah blah... Well, the interesting part is that FMA the movie came behind Pokemon 2005.
I guess i'll never understand the Japanese culture completely.

Agreed... they hate wolf's rain and prefer pokemon to FMA? They suck.

That's British, I believe... but we did adopt it in a way, like we did with a lot of things.
It's not really surprising that Pokemon usurped FMA. Sure, FMA is a lot better by any means, but if you think about it this way, Pokemon is probably like what Finding Nemo and Madagascar is to us. They are movies that adults can take their children to, and since the kids love Pokemon to death over there just as kids over here love a little mediocre-CGI created orange fish.

An update on the Japanese Box Office, poor FMA:
1 Star Wars Episode 3 - Revenge Of The Sith 2 Pokemon 2005 3 Aimless Aegis 4 Robots 5 War Of The Worlds 6 The Island 7 Fullmetal Alchemist movie 8 Shining & Little Randy 9 La Marche De L'empereur 10 Trainman
I wasn't even aware that they still make Pokemon movies, how gullible are kids these days.

Pshh they are still writing new pokemon even! I got so bored one day i went to pokemon.com and checked the new batch out. They are really running out of ideas, there was a large nose with eyes and feet called "nostrilo"... it's quite stupid.

Hey guys just got back from Japan had an awsome time. When I saw this I was talking to some guys from the industry and the reason for the fact that it didnt reallly do well are simply these. First off remember that on its first debut it almost made top spot at the box office.(thats really good for a anime anywhere) what happened was under promoting, and lack of interest. The targeted group for FMA was 15-to roughly20 while Star Wars is easily from 5-65 big difference and a animated movie anywhere is a animated movie anywhere. Its just not gonna bring in the adult crowd. Its great to be back in the states.
