I woke up at about six o'clock this morning, thankful that I didn't forget to set the alarm. I got out of bed and took a shower to get ready for work. After that I decided that I needed a good, clean, and thorough shave. Instead of using the can of cheap shaving cream that my mom had bought for me a couple weeks ago, I fished around for a half-empty can of Barbasol. It feels good to shave, especially if you've gone a few days without doing so. Especially your neck. So once I finished getting ready, I walked out the door, deciding to wear my black wool jacket. It was about twenty-eight or so degrees out. Under freezing but not too terribly cold; you kind of get used to cold temps where I live. When you endure winters where the average high can get down to -25 and the additional windchill can plummet that to record -60/-70 degree levels, a 40 degree day is like a mild summer day. I started up my car, and pulled out of the driveway. I noticed my brakes squeaking a little bit and thought about getting them looked at. I got into work at seven, a few minutes before. I work at an assisted living home, it's like a place for elderly people that aren't that disabled to move into a nursing home. I work in the kitchen as the lead assistant. The cook and I start making breakfast; I decided that I could boil some eggs for a change, as I didn't feel up to making scrambled eggs. Maybe they'd like something different for a change. While I waited for the water to boil, I sipped on a styrofoam cup of coffee. Most of the time I drink it plain without any creamer, but I had used a containter of chocolate flavored creamer this time. I can tell you that it tasted pretty good. So the morning went on. We set up the breakfast table at about eight in time for residents to sip coffee, eat cereal and toast, or gnaw on the occassional muffin or cinnamon roll. Once that was done, and they all had cleared out, it was my duty to wash the dishes and clean the area. I did so. Next, it was time to cook lunch. Right now it was about 9:00-9:30. For the main meal, which is larger than the supper meal, I set up the dining room. I set up places and pour beverages along with serving meals. Today was chicken chow mein. Not exactly one of their favorite meals, but I liked it because it was a relatively easy cleanup. After lunch was served at noon, I took by break. I bought a Coke and put it in the staff closet where my coat was. The rest of the shift was spent washing dishes, silverware, and any pots and pans that were dirtied during the cooking process. After that, I was off the hook. I filled out my time card and took off. It was snowing as I drove home, and the radio predicted more over the next few days. When I got home I went online for a little bit and then got off. I decided that I oughta clean up a little and that I had been putting off mopping the kitchen floor for a while now. For those of you who don't know, I literally live in an abandoned church. The previous owners had abandoned it for about a year and a half until my aunt sought out to buy the property. She did, and took it up as her personal fixer-upper project. Later, when I was old enough, she let me rent out the place for an insanely cheap monthly payment to her. Basically, the upstairs is where all the pews are ( or were as they have all been taken out ) is where my livingroom is. It's quite an expansive place. Bright stained glass windows on each side cast colored light into the large room. Where the altar was, is my aunt's large bookcase, where I've stored some of my own reading. To the left in a small room is a pink bathroom. My aunt felt like it. Above the main floor is a little loft where the organ once was. I have two mattresses up there incase sleeping the basement is too cold. Downstairs is a huge area much like the upstairs. It's furnished with a foosball table. ( Kinda wobbly and slants a little to the side. ) Near the kitchen, I have my computer. The kitchen is pretty big, and it comes with a huge counter space that's meant to be used as in a cafeteria like setting. A hidden staircase leads up to the second floor behind the bookcases. So after I was done doing some housework I fired up Final Fantasy VII in my PS2. Sure, it's eight years old now, but it's one of the best damn RPG's ever. Period. After playing for a while I threw a frozen pizza in the oven and cooked that up. After that, I thought I'd go online again, and here I am.

They can be quite an entertaining bunch, yes. Once you get to know them, it's kinda fun. The elderly can be quite nice too. Sometimes it's almost like having a bunch of grandparents.

i cant handle my grandparents because they moved in to our house, dont speak a word of english, and they smell REALLY bad. they also dont flush, and they use MY bathroom, so i cant use my own bathroom anymore. so yeah, i cant stand them.
but back on topic: i finished roughly half of my homework, an got super lazy and decided to spend the rest of the time online.

I just got back up twenty-five minutes ago from the cellar where I was lifting weights, doubling up on everything was quite harsh but I am sure that it shall be rewarding in the long run. I am winding down right now, watching a Led Zeppelin concert from '77, the one where Keith Moon was invited as a guest.
