Yeah Devinfire, your art is REALLY good now!!! It would be 10, but Kiba's head is a tad too large like Mr Giggles said. 8.789247380439084/10.

I'm a tough critic 5/10 very nice! i really don't see the point in that but anyway... i guess it takes all kinds. but a 5? out of 10? seriously? or are you bullshitting? honestly, that was pointless, and it's not cute, but Im not sure if that was what you had in mind. it's acting as if i've done something in the past that pissed you off. no it's not perfect, but trust me it's pretty damn good. Mostly im a man of modesty, but yeah that was either a needless insult or a lame joke.

Well I guess you could rate it as a joke, I'm really a tough critic, you're lucky to get a 5 out of me! The way I see it is that grades and ratings have inflated over time, much like america's gas prices Now and days an AVERAGE grade in school is a B or A, even in college, people rate things at 8+/10! Originally the grade scale was to be put as: A- Perfect B- Above average C- Average D- Below Average F- Completely utterly screwed up Now does this mean that everyone in the world in relative grading is above average? This would mean that theres nobody to BE the average! So 5 if the Average (halfway), 10 is Perfect which unless its posted/postable in a museum or tickles a part of my fancy most things aren't perfect. 7.5ish would be a above average exceptional work. 2.5ish is around a poor sketch work or something like that. So yes, my rating is 5, could be a 6 or 7 with the head being fixed and eyes being a little more proper with the glare look, the eyes and the eye 'sockets' just don't match to convey the mood either. I didn't appreciate the personal attack either via personal message, I rated it my way, its a 'free speech' kinda thing, I can think the way I would like. Destructive criticism does have its benefits in small doses, consider me your dose of medicine to get better! If everyone said your art was perfect we wouldn't need to improve our art now would we? If theres a small handful that think it could be better it WOULD subconciously or conciously cause you to work harder at achiving perfection as thats a human goal in nature.

And for god sakes people use the Levels tool in Photoshop!! It's not hard, really it isn't. 6/10 - head too big and needs levels tool. Make head smaller and get rid of background, an 8 =)

Maybe Kiba has a allergic reaction to the rose petals? Head needs fixing, and Jamie-san is right.... level it!!

So you have a fanart picture that needs leveling? Don't know what I'm talking about. Here's what to do! First "acquire" a copy of Photoshop. Click ctrl-L (or command-L for mac users) to bring up the levels tool like so: Drag the slider on the left to where the black begins and drag the slider on the right to where the drop in the curve is (see below) and hit okay And yay! Stupid trash like pencil smudges and background noise is magically removed by the powers of adobe: observez:

Little ridiculous on this level guys, don't ya think? Devinfire was merely stating an opinion just as everyone is entitled too...there is no reason for all of this other in here. I'm an artist too and I rated his work as an 8 also because I look at his age and consider the fact that that, okay he has probably had no considerable art classes. Taking this into mind I figure also that he's doing this probably more as a hobby than anything (a lot like me at that age). These things together make me realize this pic is not bad at all because it is original and it was worked on hard. Perhaps not perfect, but also not bad if you consider all of these things. One thing I might point out also, not everyone can afford Photoshop, considering that a full version of it costs around $600 bucks last time I priced. I'm not saying you can't leave opinions, I'm just simply stating that stuff like that is uncalled for and really of no use. You wanna post about levels and how to use them? Make a new thread...don't clutter up someones thread with it. It's tacky and rude.
