OK I have the entire WR DVD collection, and now #1 and #7 aren't working! The DVD played dosen't read them an it says "No Disc" . It's not the DVD player because I have tried them on other ones, too.
Has anyone else had this problem?

That's not good...
have you thought that they might be bootlegs or copies? where did you order them?

I have that problem sometimes with 1 and 7. 1 will not play on my peripheral DVD player at home for any reason. It's real...I bought it from Best Buy in the LE Box. It plays fine on the DVD player that's embedded in the TV, but not in the one hooked up beneath it. Seven has issues with my computer DVD player. I have to tweak it nine or so times and sometimes open the movie in the folder or drag it to InterWinVideo DVD. I'm not sure what it is about them, but I just simply don't play those on machines that they don't seem to like. I don't know if that's something that can necessarily be fixed or if it's with the player or the DVD. But I definitely know what you're talking about.

Oooh. Lame. Can you exchange them? Like... go to the store and say, "Hey! This isn't working! What's up?!"

I can't:( It's been about a year since I bought DVD 1, and it didn't start screwing up until I got that DVD player until Christmas. And with DVD 7, it doesn't quite bother me enough to exchange. It works fine on every DVD player except the computer, and I only wanted to play it that one time so I could snag some screenshots.

And if multiple people are having these problems, maybe an exchange wouldn't do anything at all.

This has been occuring alot lately because companies are making dvds smaller than they need to be. No drasticly smaller, but enough so that when dirt begins to build up on your lens tracks, the lens cannot read the data correctly. There's a tape trick you can try, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you can tell me your exact type of player. you could take apart your dvd player and clean it out thoroughly using my trusty companion rubbing alchohol. Anyway, it's really the companies fault, not the player. It happens alot with my dvds, so I just did the tape trick and make sure to clean the player out regularly... damn dust particles and their mischevious ways... edit: i would not suggest an "inexperienced" individual take apart their player. Instead, check your warranty on the player and try to exchange it. The dvds themselves are the problem. The tape trick I suggested consists of laying 1 inch strips of scotch tape across the dvd. Look at my pretty pic Now, if it still doesn't read the disc, add another layer of tape strips to the previously laid strips. I wouldn't go over three layers, if it still isn't working than something else is wrong with your player. A lens cleaning disc isn't a bad idea either, however I must admit, out of all the lens cleaning discs I've ever bought, none worked. They just dont really clean the lens. The best method is directly rubbing the lens with a cotton swab drenched in a little rubbing alchohol. clean, smooth strokes, nothing too hard or you will damage it.

That is strange. I've never had any problems with mine *crosses fingers*, and my DVD player is just a little cheap one that was on sale, nothing extravagant.

This happens when you set your dvd player in a area that collects a large amount of dust. if you live in a "squeeky" cleen area it shouldn't be as bad as others. it's not so much as dirt on the lens as it is dirt on the tracks that throw the lens off just alittle, but enough to distort it's ability to read data of the disc. if a tape trick doesn't work, your lens is most likely the problem. also, just because one dvd doesn't work on a player, but a different dvd works on the same player, doesn't make it the dvd's fault. it could still be the dirty tracks or dirty lens.

Yeah...mines sitting up on a shelf, but it's inside a compartment, so not much dust gets to it, and I always make sure my DVD's, or any CD for that matter are clean.
