I wanted to gather some info from you guys on Tsume's knife. What do you think is it's purpose? Why would Tsume use... well.... "use" a knife?
Do you think it's to trick people.
(This is a harvest)

I honestly think that Tsume's knife is just as much an illusion as his human form is. It represents his claws and teeth, but in a way that humans can relate to it, without letting down his guard. It does have to be an illusion since you actually never see him carrying it around as a wolf, and I'm sure there's only so many places he could put it.

If he can make an illusion of a knife, why can't he make an illusion of a motorcycle? Eh....? Eh....?

Hmmm... one reason why I think Tsume would **not** illusion up a motorcycle is because of what kiba says in episode... 27. Something along the lines that they'll run on their own to feet for as long as it takes. Of course to say that's exactly like the motorcyle being an illusion is wrong, because a motorcycle goes faster than a wolf... I think.

Yes, and for him not to carry anything, but to bust people up with cuts and scrapes. I think some would eventually start to wonder how it happened. So the knife I think was an illusion to make room for the fact he could only bite and claw.

I always got confused as how they could hold items such as knives and hotdogs like they had human hands but when Tsume reached down to help Gehl it showed him grabbing on with his teeth. Sometimes it's hard to tell what's an illusion and what they're really doing since I doubt a wolf would go around with a knife in it's mouth if their hands are their jaws like it suggests. So I guess if that was the case then the knife would be an illusion like you said.

One example that i can think of is the key in episode 2, i wonder how they were able to use the key to get out of jail.

I was wondering that also. When I saw him pull that out, I wondered once how he must have used it if they had no hands. I can't see a wolf using it's mouth to do that.

If he can make an illusion of a knife, why can't he make an illusion of a motorcycle? Eh....? Eh....? My thoughts exactly. The dagger is there to make his killing/fighting not look out of place. So of course the motorcycle is there to make his fast running seem okay too. Of course, there is sttill a possibility they are humans and thatmotorcycle is real, but its just a thought. As for the key, that is one of the few flaws in the show in which there is no explanation; therefore a goof.

Unless they had someone else open it for them... there were other people in there with them, right?

Yes, other prisoners, it is a possible they might have asked someone to open the cell for them but that is unlikely. Why? Well, then all of the prisoners would get out and cause a big commotion which we did not see.

This has been discussed a thousand times over at the Wolf's Rain community on livejournal. His knife is a illusion for humans, I cannot recall if it was an illusion for his claws or his teeth. You would have to go back through the community to be 100% sure. I would think it was for his teeth but since his name is Tsume it may have been his claws.

I personally think it's his claws also. In episode 19, when Tsume jumps on Eeke (Sp?), when Eeke was about to shoot Toboe with an arrow, all it shows us is Tsumes barring his teeth before he jumps. We never get a good shot of Tsume in his wolf form holding Eeke down. It looks like Tsume would be holding Eeke down with one paw and putting his other claw to Eeke's throat if he were in his wolf form.

I believe it signifies them both. Probably just depends on which Tsume chooses to use.
