There's something called Lucid Dreaming which I want to learn how to do. The definition of a Lucid Dream is that you are conscience during the dream... as in while you're dreaming, you know you're dreaming. Advanced lucid dreaming is to be able to control the dream. This means that dreams could be your own virtual reality. Read about it here: www.dreamviews.comIf anyone is successful, let us know I've tried lucid dreaming before, but I wasn't very sucessful. I've always been able to have some minor influence over my dreams a good percentage of the time, tho... so it's not too bad. I have had some rather weird ones that I've had no control over, tho... like one where I died then came back to life

Thats interesting... must be near impossible to do though. and if you know you are dreaming and you are controlling it- its not much of a dream anymore, is it?

A couple of nights ago, I had a dream where I realized I was dreaming. It was rather odd...I can't remember what brought it on, but I remember thinking to myself "This isn't right...it must be a dream" and so I started doing things, just to verify that it was a dream. Not off the wall things like flying or stuff like that. Just checking cabinets, things were where they weren't supposed to be, etc. I haven't had many wolf dreams. One where I cast a wolf shadow, or saw a wolf's reflection in the mirror, left pawprints on the sidewalk after walking through water...that's the only one I can remember offhand. If I recall correctly, I had that one before I even saw an episode of Wolf's rain, which makes it weirder.

Actually DJ, I taught myself to dream like this. I can't remember how exactly I taught myself to do it but it involved sleep paralysis.

No you can be conscience during a dream and it's still a dream, just called a lucid dream. To be able to control every aspect of your dream or push it in a certain direction would be like a hobby! Imagine... to dream about ANYTHING you want and do anything! It'd be your own world to play in. Actually DJ, I taught myself to dream like this. I can't remember how exactly I taught myself to do it but it involved sleep paralysis. Oh cool. I haven't gotten to the tutorials on the website yet, but they guide you through it. Right now I'm just working on dream recall. No point in lucid dreaming if you can't remember it =P

I've done this also, but as GoldenFire stated...I've woke up not too long after I realized it. If I could control my dreams I probably would. I don't like having dreams like the one I had...it only depresses me. That's the second dream in my whole life that I ever woke up crying from.

It's weird, though, because this time, I didn't wake up right away. The dream went as long as any other, just I knew it was one. Other times, I've had dreams where I remember hoping that I was dreaming when things got too weird, and willing myself to wake up, but that time, I didn't bother to. I guess because things were pretty normal where I didn't feel like I needed to or something.
I'm usually really good at remembering my dreams in decent enough detail (where I was, what I did, what I noticed was definitely out of place after waking up and thinking it over). The ones that really stand out, I can remember for months at a time. Most others I can only retain for a couple of days. I tend to write down some of the more memorable ones. I rarely have nightmares, so usually, dreaming is a pleasant (yet often very strange) experience. On a segway, here, has anyone ever had a continuing dream? You wake up, and not necessarily the next night but sometime soon after, you have another dream that seems to pick up where the last left off?

My dad has continuing dreams. Or at least reaccuring (sp?) ones...he's always in this mountain and something dreadful happens. They're stress dreams... I had another wolf one last night. I wasn't a wolf but I got to howl at least. I was walking along this one trail I've been on before (either in a dream or eral life, can't remember which) and I felt like giving a howl or two. Heedless that I might attract a wolf. So I did and as I went around the corner I looked behind me and on the far hill there was this reddish brown wolf looking right at me. That wolf was so beautiful... Oh, it was just gorgeous! It must have been a female because later I saw it with a litter of the cutest little cubs you could imagine!! I can't remember much other than the fact it was more confusing than the other one. I loved howling! Oh, if you ever get to do it right, in or out of a dream, do it! Throw your head back and do it, I felt so, so...so...oh, it's indiscribeable! (sp??) Wow...your footprints were wolf? Reflections and shadows, too? Oh, man! That's a dream I'd like to have! ;D I've been aware that I'm dreaming all the time. I have dreams and I know I'm dreaming. The first night in my new place (me and my family moved a month or two ago) I had the worst nightmare I've ever had that I can remember of. Things coming after me, trying to kill me and all these things, I nearly wanted to scream out "HELP!!!" but I controlled myself because I knew it was a dream and would be a false alarm. Then shortly after that, the dream ended. I'll check out that dream site later, though...just to see if I can do this type of stuff better...I have a good time anyway doing just what I do. I figured out how to dream what I want!! When I want!!! Last night I wanted to dream about a wolf or as a wolf whatever...and when I fell asleep I dreamed that one that I just told you about (the one with the reddish brown wolf)! So maybe I can tell myself what to dream about exactly and relive that Kiba one.... I'm not about to be fed hogwash. Maybe we are and maybe we're not wolves. But at least I know how they felt. It wasn't just an illusion for the wolves either. Remember Tsume telling Kiba this, "Last time we met, you said something about how your pride wouldn't let you pass as a human. Well, you look pretty human now, where'd your pride go?" ? They can see easchother as humans. Not to mention the time that Kiba held Cheza's hand. In his true form he wouldn't be able to do that. I felt so thick, so double layered...my jaw felt long and the strength it had was amazing...my hands didn't feel like true hands, they felt all bunched together and my arms were strong as if I was bracing with them if I went forward...good God, I even felt like I had a tail! I really have respect for their trouble now. My goodness...making themselves look like that is amazing. I am a 100% believer now. Not that I wasn't before, but so many questions about them that I had are answered. Q. Was it an illusion? A. No and Yes at the same time. Q. Did they feel their human bodies? A. Kind of. Q. Would they be able to use their hands like a human? A. No. Those are just a few in my head to which the answers could only come from a dream where you had that problem of theirs. I have to go...if anybody thinks I'm totally stupid for thinking the way I do about that dream, please leave...sorry, but I just don't want to fight. Not if I don't need to.

I think it is very cool, Rakuen Girl. I don' t usually remember my dreams too well, and I've never had any that affected me like that, so I'm starting a dream journal to make myself remember. I also have one other problem; I often can't remember if what I'm thinking about was in a dream, or if it was a memory.

Never really cared for mine either until I realised that they might mean something.... Dream or memory....mine most of the time I'm sure are dreams. Never really had any that was in some other place I've been to...not that I can remember...

Remember Tsume telling Kiba this, "Last time we met, you said something about how your pride wouldn't let you pass as a human. Well, you look pretty human now, where'd your pride go?" ? They can see easchother as humans. Not to mention the time that Kiba held Cheza's hand. In his true form he wouldn't be able to do that. that comment concerned the fact when Tsume first met Kiba he refused to use the human illusion, the key part of that phrase was "pass as human." there's also no proof they see eachother as humans except when they want to be seen as humans. seriously, they're wolves, what would the point of seeing other wolves as humans even if humans see them as wolves be? besides, if you watched the interviews and read some translations of the printed interviews you'd know they all but say straight out that it is just illusion. now, as a decent therian I must do my job and repeat; you are HUMAN, you are NOT A WOLF. you may have a spiritual connection with wolf either as a totem or 'wereside' but that DOES NOT MAKE YOU A WOLF. dreams and imaginations do not change that fact. heck, I dreampt once that I died, I felt myself die, it felt real as hell, the whole dream was vivid, vibrant, I could feel textures and smell scents, but that doesn't make it real. I felt so thick, so double layered...my jaw felt long and the strength it had was amazing...my hands didn't feel like true hands, they felt all bunched together and my arms were strong as if I was bracing with them if I went forward...good God, I even felt like I had a tail! Would they be able to use their hands like a human? A. No. so, instead of going by what's said in the interviews and what's indicated in the series you're basing your version of WR canon based on your dreams? boy, don't that make you look like the knowledgable fankiddy friendly reminder here, this is a WORK OF FICTION. the rules of the Wolf's Rain universe are set by the creator and others who had a hand in making it, not the fans. IT IS NOT REAL. just because you dream of the Wolf's Rain universe or something very much like it doesn't make it anymore real, even if it's a very vivid dream.

Woah Mugetsu., that was pretty harsh. True, but harsh. Anyway ive had multiple dreams where i found out i was dreaming, but they broke up and i awoke, like all of you guys. Apparently, the dream-god didnt like us having the power, and kicked us out.

Hurrah! Well done Mugetsu! She won't be able to grasp your point but you did a brilliant job in preserving common sense from perversion.

I agree with Mugetsu. For Kiba to hold Cheza's hand would have been simple if it even happened and was not a simple illusion tossed to us by the Artists that Be for metaphorical interpretation (something like how the wolves' clothes are tattered and torn after a battle, despite the fact that they're not even wearing clothes). Kiba and Cheza holding hands could have simply been as much as Kiba walking with Cheza's hand clamped gently between his jaws or as little as Cheza walking with her hand on Kiba's head or back. The illusions are merely illusions, and the little "inconsistencies" are merely meant to be interpreted by the watcher in a manner in which they're able to understand and relate to, themselves, that are most powerful to human emotion. I think you should do some research on Therianthropy, RakuenGirl, if you believe that strongly you...I hesitate to say it.....are a wolf, so it might help you separate out if this is true spiritual connection or merely a Wolf's Rain obsession. www.shifters.org
