as far as i know there is not a topic on this so i'll go ahead and post away...
so I was thinking about why the moon was red...is there a reason that we can explain or is it just something that needs to happen on the show...or what have you...
anyway i stumbled onto Lunar eclipses...
When a luncar eclipse is in the Totality stage the moon will turn red...the moon appears redish from the light refraction of earth's atmosphere...now you can go thru all the requirements for this type of eclipse to happen ( a lunar eclipse happens often compared to other eclipses)
anyway maybe i should have turned this into a poll about which you think is right...but who likes polls anyway they never have the answer you are after so instead just post what you think or somethin...

Why was the moon red? For metaphorical purposes I suppose. Red Moon=Blood being spilled

That and in the Book of Revelations it talks about the moon turning red, thus signaling the end of the world. In Wolf's Rain, the end of the world was approaching, and you could tell by all the shooting stars, and yes, the blood red moon.

shooting stars = the end of the world? since when and yes i kno the moon symbolizes blood and the end of the world but i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on possible reasons why it was red other than forshadowing the end of the world (disccusion come on we need a good one...)

In most cases it means blood is being spilled but in Wolf's Rain like Sean said it signified the end of the world. What i noticed while observing the DVD covers was that from Volumes 1-7, each time the moon in the background got more intense, at first it was (some color.. blue or green or yellow) and it got darker and darker until volume 7 where it was blood red, 6 was pink, etc.

Well, i have always wondered how WR's red moon was able to turn(color) into one such as our own. I guess there is a scientific explanation on how our moon can appear red under certain circumstances but that doesn't go both ways. I suppose WR's moon has a lot of Iron in it.

Come to think of it this was shown in "gravity" as the background too, until it became dark red.

Yeah, I liked watching the moon change colors during the end of each episode. It rocked!
And all those shooting stars signifies that the world is going crazy, out of whack, etc... Like the balance is being disrupted type of thing, you know... the world is falling apart
I also think during the time of the dinosaurs that there was a big increase of shooting star activity before the big meteor hit, which caused all the life on the planet to end in one way or another. I swear I've heard that before on the Discovery channel or somethin

I've seen the Red Moon. Back when the big ol'e stink about the lunar eclipse happend and I watched it turn Red as it went higher into the sky instead of the other way around. I told my mom about the legend of the Red Moon as it was told in Kneega Loonih. She was shocked. And I said it exactly as Cher did when reading the book. I believed the workd was coming to an end and the wolves were looking for Paradise as the moon got more red.
