You know I was showing a friend Wolf's Rain and we finally watched the last four episodes last night.... followed by 2 hours of crying (on my end). You know I never really became numb to it. The ending wasn't happy enough to really make you believe everything will be alright. And Toboe's death was so slow and Tsume didn't even get to say goodbye.... it's really heart-wrenching.
I was wondering if you all still watch the episodes again? Or is the series dead to you?
Once again, I think a second season would've done well... they really had places to go. Hopefully nothing worse then what had already happened... but it would've been comforting for them to be conscious of what happened previous and that they all remembered each other. Those are just my thoughts...

Yeah, I still watch some episodes from time to time. And after watching tons of anime series. I still regard Wolf's Rain as the best ever.
A second season would've killed the entire anime. And i would've killed the ones that dared to do such a thing. However, some OAVs explaining the whole nobles thing would indeed be welcomed.

I, too watch some of the eps when I feel the urge a-gnawing at me. My favorites remain "Vanishing Point", "Don't Make Me Blue", "Men's Lament", "Pieces of a Shooting Star", "The Moonlight Crucible" and "Wolf's Rain"
I, too think a second season would have killed all meaning behind the anime, because a second season would eventually have to end, and when it did, it would either have to end like it did the first time around (which would make the newer season pointless) or it would have to have a once-and-for-all ending to end all endings and completely close it up for reinterpretation, which would again, void out the implication made by the ending of season 1 and make it a great big old lie.
The ending to WR pissed me off only because I think I wasn't ready for it to end, especially the way it ended, but it was genius because it left things open to the watcher's interpretation instead of handing them an ending to just deal with.

Yeah, it's fine the way it is. No more eppys! I haven't watched it in quite awhile... maybe I will someday. Maybe I can get some friends to watch it

I haven`t watched it in a long time...
But occasionally I go back and watch the end of it. I thought the ending was fine. Perhaps rushed deaths, but it wrapped it up... and like Crickie said, let you interpret it. It`s a show that requires a lot of thinking, which is great. Anyone who believes it needs a second season just doesn`t understand / never connected with the show to know it`s style.
[It`s still my favorite]
My fave episodes are The Flower Maiden and the Fallen Keep, in addition to all of Crickie`s. Moonlight crucible is probably my favorite.

Ouch... that was a little harsh don't you think? i guess you haven't read Studio Plug 'n' Plays doujinshi "Eaten By the Monster of Love" that takes it past Episode 30 in a very good way. It goes from concentrating on the whole Paradise thing to how the characters are after finding it and how their relationships are. I love it =)
