These are some guidelines/rules to posting on the Wolf's Rain Forums.
1. Please determine if your topic is suitable in this topic and post in the correct one. Discussion should be related to the specific forum topic. Excessively off-topic ("OT") posts will be locked or deleted at the Mod's discretion, so stay on topic.
2. Don't double up on topics, search the forums first before you post a thread that you think may have been started up beforehand because your thread is likley to be locked if it already exists.
3. Post warnings for spoilers (images or otherwise).
4. Regarding fansubs: Discussion of where to get fansubs is prohibited. No links to any fansub sites, bootleg sites or ways to get your hands on them. This is a public forum, the last thing we want is for it to be shut down. You can now easily purchase legitimate releases of Wolf's Rain from Bandai Entertainment in the United States and various other companies worldwide. Find a legit version you can get your hands on.
5. This is an English-language forum. All users are expected to have a working knowledge of proper English. We are not an IM chatroom; we expect relativley proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. There is no need to 'shout' your entire messages by typing in capitals either, we can all see your message perfectly well. This might be hard for some of you, but try.
6. If you disagree with a poster, disagree respectfully, or do not disagree at all. For example, do not use "gay" to mean "stupid". The only one that will come off as stupid, is you. By the same token, flaming is next to non existant, let's try to keep it that way.
7. ALL NEWBIES there is ONE 'introduction' thread and one only in Wolf's Chat. Make yourself known there, dont start new topics to introduce yourselves, they will be deleted.
8. Signatures must be TEXT ONLY, no images are to be used whatsoever. If you don't comply with this we will remove the image for you.
9. Threads and topics should carry some measure of intelligence to them. Consider if what you are writing is relevant or important to others. If it does not contribute to the discussion, do not post it. Don't post useless topics such as "If you like Kiba, Post Here!" / "so and so is a hottie" / " (boyband) v (boyband)" (just an examples). This doesnt add to discussion in any way, shape or form.
10. Post warnings if you are posting pics that contain shonen-ai or the like. Some people prefer the warning. If you are posting images in the cosplay forum, please keep the pics tasteful.
11. There is no need to type with GLOW TEXT or SHADOW TEXT. We realise that the option is there but there is no real point to it and it makes the text increasingly hard to read. Please refrain from using it.
12. No blatant advertising of other sites, including your own, unless they are related to Wolf’s Rain. If you must, put the link in your signature.
13. Admins and Moderators have the right to lock, delete or modify any post at any time for any reason. If a thread is locked, then theres a reason behind it. If you feel a thread should be locked or you have an issue you want to disscuss about the boards or other users then Private Message the Admin or Mod and we will take care of it as best we can.
REGARDING SPAM ON THE BOARDS[/u]
The admins and mods have given several warnings to particular people as a result of this. Our warnings have been heeded by some, but others have continued to spam more and more, wasting our time and the time of others. The result is spam cluttering the forums and this makes it hard to find good discussions worth continuing. It would help us out greatly if everyone would refrain from spamming. Spamming can vary from idle 'chatroom' coversations, people "playing" with each other which generally wastes posts (eg. "this one runs behind so and so and plays with his ear"), going way off topic... to name a few.
This is a forum, not a chatroom. The Mods get constantly asked questions "Why did you close so and so thread?" the answer more often than not is because of the spam that some users continue to clutter the boards with. If you spam a thread, it will be locked at the mod's discretion, and if you PM one of us asking why a thread that has been spammed is locked then you are unlikely to get a response as it's reasonably self explanitory. So don't take it personally.
Don't try and start up a similar thread, that won’t last long either. Remember, if you have to talk to someone, PM them. (Don't start a thread addressed to one person, for example) You can always have fun on the forums without spamming.
