Some people say it's Bebop with a hip-hop/samurai twist. Anyway, Samurai Champloo is headed to Adult Swim. Two samurai ( Mugen and Jin ) meet a girl named Fuu after they're thrown in jail for inadvertently killing someone in their battle. They feel implied to stay with the girl even though she gets in trouble more than Miaka from Fushigi Yugi, if that was possible. But anyway, the music has a hip-hop twist to it. And although it wasn't done by the almighty princess of anime music, Yoko Kanno, it might make Bebop fans warm right in.

Ahh yes I've seen a few episodes already and it does look to be a good series to fall back on after GITS is over for most.

The first time I saw samurai champloo I thought it was going to be awesome, but after watching the first 5 episodes I was kind of dissapointed. It doesn't really have any of the charm that Cowboy Bebop did, it seems kind of like a generic anime show to me.

To be honest, I heard that it was cancelled after the seventeenth episode over in Japan. But who knows, it might catch on over here.

On the contrary, I think that Cowboy Bebop did do very well in Japan unlike Wolf's Rain unfortunately. I did see an AS commercial asking comedy fans to tune in to SC too, which was courteous of them. At least they made a small effort to spread anime to other viewers.

I've seen the commercials and the hip- hop/samurai thing sounds interesting to say the least. I'm sure it'll be very kickass. As for Japan... I'm not sure. You can never really tell how they're gonna react to the next big anime series. But even if it doesn't do well there, I'm sure it'll do good in the states. We dig samurais and hip-hop like that.

Wee! I just saw the first episode. It was amazing. The story was so oordinary, but the show's presentation had a unique style to its own. The hip-hop thing is cool, and it is quite hilarious as well!
