i wouldn't say they became friends yet. don't forget that right before the coin toss they were ready to rip eachother's throats out. they are total opposites, so they will no doubt have many more fueds. let me rephrase that then: two samurai who are opposites and fight eachother, arent friends but are in the same "group" is overused, but definitely i love the first episode, and i think the characters are pretty original... except Fuu, who was taken straight out of Samurai Deeper Kyo. (kind, not really but definitely some parts so far, tho i dont know enough to say anything for sure...)

I saw the first episode a while back when it first came out over in Japan and had a terrible sub into english but even back then I knew it had great potential. Usually me and a few other consultants in the U.S. will voice out opinions on an anime an if there are alot of the same concern most of the time the animators will change some of it. I dont know what it is I always used to point out it didnt have enought plot or it was to indepth for a starting episode. But I dont know maybe after seeing so many crappy ones I just cant say anything bad about this anime. It's just that good you should wait and see how the rest of the season turn out. This anime proves to be Geneons version of Bandai's Cowboy Bebop. If you didnt notice most of the starring voices were in the first episode of Champloo oh well this will probably turn into one of the anime I look forward to the most in english now on saturday nights. But something still got to come along and take the spot of FMA I have yet to see..

Im not sure which one did the va, or if it was either one of them.

It's Steve Blum. David Hayter is Mr. Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series. I know. Trust me, im a huge fan of Metal Gear Solid/Metal Gear, probaly one of the biggest, i know nearly everything about those suckers. When I heard David Hayter voiced Spike, i knew i had to watch it. Im not crystal clear on the ordeal either, but I am sure David Hayter voiced Spike during the series. anyway, Steven Jay Blum/David Lucas/David Hayter are the same person, he goes under many different names, as to what i am told.

u do now that david's real voice isn't snakes from mgs right? anyway, trust me, David Hayter did voice Spike at some point. it was the entire reason why I watched CB at first, and then got absorbed in it.
anyway, what you listed isn't exact proof, and their voice is actually alike. it's really a mystery as to whether they are the same or not. im going to look for a pic of david later, and compare it to steve. anyway, i know spike was va'd by david at one point in time.

I have every episode of Bebop on DVD and there is no mention of David Hayter at all in the credits. Just Steven Blum. Cast list of all the Bebop episodes: imdb.com/title/tt0213338/fullcredits

that's fine. i still know he was voiced by david hayter/steve blum. anyway, i consider proof actual word from steve/david. this has been a huge controversial subject that's yet to be answered, but I am sure david hayter played spike. It was the reason I even gave CB a chance, since i had been a fan of mgs/mg for so long.

And it has to be more than just intuition. Cast list of all the Bebop episodes: imdb.com/title/tt0213338/fullcredits

What I posted is indeed proof. The data that IMBd puts up is from David Hayter and Steve Blum's respective agents. If there is any factual source available to the public for acting and voice acting, it's IMDb. Connected directly with the biz itself. I'd like to know the link of the site that posted that info, because it's obviously wrong. just so you know, david lucas is also credited in cb, yet it was once thought that he was david hayter were the same man. now it's believe that he and steve are the same. it's really confusing, but trust me at some point spike was voiced by david hayter. Steve Blum goes by the name David Lucas at different times. He's done it in several anime's. That's where I think some fans might have gotten it mixed up with David Hayter. Anyway, Steve Blum's voice has more of a higher tone and nasal quality than David Hayter's low, raspy, and gutteral voice. In the entire series, Steve Blum/David Lucas is only credited as the voice for Spike. Blum/Lucas did make an appearance in the MGS games, but only as a Genome Soldier in the Twin Snakes.
