Okay, but i find that odd only because this has got to be one of the most ineresting and unique anime ive ever seen... (with the cool animation and crazy hip hop twist) But anyway, you should keep on watching. I heard from my friends that the first episode is actually different from most of the show. It's like judging a book by its cover. I had to read a scifi book, and i chose this interesting book which had a weird white cat and a spaceship on its cover. i was quite interested and read it for my project. The story actually was about men who were addicted to masturbating, and a serial killer who collected severed boobs. Just an example.

i read them. all you really said was that it didn't interest you, which is fine i guess. you must not like samurai and hip-hop, and after all i said it doesn't matter, i really don't care if you didn't like it, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I didn't really like the series that much, and watching the first episode again only confirmed that. I've seen the first five episodes already, and after that I decided not to watch the next couple. The animation is good, and the ideas for the characters are pretty awesome, but there were parts of the show I just couldn't buy into.
They try to make everything really modern it seems, and I understand thats what the twist is all about. The hip-hop and the modern crap, but they dont do a very good job of blending it in. Not only that, but there are points in the show where Jin and Mugen try to continue their fight for no reason. I mean, they basically started their fight for no reason. Mugen is a cool idea for a character, but his starting the fight with Jin was just plain idiotic. I didn't buy it at all. And whenever they do start to fight again, its not even comical or interesting, just annoying. The fighting gets kind of old because it all seems the same, and Mugen's character changes from refreshing to annoying.
I dont know, maybe I do need to watch more then 5 episodes, but I just don't buy into the storyline. Jin is probably the only character I don't get annoyed with. The only other part of the show I really liked was the ending theme song, I've heard the whole thing and I love it. The first time I heard it, I hated it, but if you listen to it again, it gets really addictive and sounds great. I really hated the beginning song though....*shudder* I just can't stand it.

I understood that they wanted us to think that Mugen fought Jin because he enjoys fighting stronger people and whatnot. What I meant by what I said was that I didn't really buy into it. I'm not sure how to explain myself, but to me it didn't seem cool that he had done that, just stupid. It felt more like he was just being a reckless idiot like Jin had said, and not really so much wanting to fight better opponents then himself.
But I don't want to sound like you shouldn't watch the show. I'm probably gonna watch it for fun and try not to take it too seriously. The only thing that really got to me in the end, was that you had the potential for really great characters, but the plot took them no where. I hope that if I watch more I'll change my mind.

Well i mentioned that 2 samurai fighting and becoming friends was a little over-used, but the way it is presented and blended made me ignore that.... though i didnt see how much substance it has, the first episode of any anime hardly ever has substance.
