I know we all must have noticed it, Kiba's obsession with paradise and Cheza is really dangerous to them all because he'll do anything no matter what to get to them. I haven't seen the whole series so I can't say I know what will happen, and I don't want any spoilers either. But its seems like it would be their downfall if they didnt get to paradise.
Also its kind of sad that Kiba's kind of doing the same thing with Cheza that everyone else was, just using her for a purpose. I know a lot of people think Kiba and Cheza have this great love or something, but it just seems like he's using her more then anything and just protecting her until they get to paradise. You can tell that he does have a lot of emotions over here though. It's even sadder cause Cheza thinks that he isn't like the rest of them.
Anyways what do you guys think?

I think that he does car efo rher its just that his first intent wasn't to fall in love with her but use her as his key. He hasn't let go of that purpose even though he has fallen in love with her. Cheza is right that he is different than everyone because he has real emotions for her

I have to agree with Kiba. I haven't seen the whole show, but I did see some and his feelings for her seemed to be strong. I'm guessing it was one of these situations where his intent was different in the start, but things changed.

Okay, I guess I'll be the cynical one here. I liked Kiba at first, but then Cheza came along and he didn't care or have any eyes for anything else, but her and her relationship to paradise, and I got really annoyed with him. I don't think of his relationship to her as anything, but a blind obsession. I see Cheza's relationship to him is more of a adoration. Kinda like a little brother or even a pet. Now excuse me as I run from all the Kiba x Cheza fans. *runs*

I'm not so sure about that. I remember when Kiba first saw Cheza by that pond, it was like...Romeo seeing Juliet. *listening to My Little Flower* It was like believing in something all your life, but never really knowing if it truly exists until it's right there. First feeling love, like being struck by a train, you're breathless and want to cry, and you want to leap for joy at the same time. I think he really cares about Cheza, though maybe not in the traditional Wolf-Meets-Girl, Wolf-Loves-Girl kinda way. As for paradise...all of the wolves want to get there. Kiba is the alpha of his pack...it's his job to lead the others. If he has to be pushy about it, he has to, to keep them together. He couldn't make it alone, but I haven't seen Hige or Toboe resist much about seeking paradise out. They're not as eager as Kiba, but we don't know Kiba's past, either. Tsume is pushing on Kiba's dominance but that's normal wolf behavior. However, Kiba still looks after his friends. They look after each other. Cheza is an important being to Kiba, but to all of them. If they can't find paradise, they'll be lost in dying humanity like the wolves in that one city. None of them want to end up that way. I'd rather die pursuing a dream that die lonely and miserable and in pain, suffering an existance that'll kick me down until I'm too old to fight it anymore. *eeps and gets off her soapbox* Sorry for the long rant! That's just my thoughts. >.>;

I haven't seen the whole series either, but I have to agree with Azure. I guess you can somewhat think of Kiba's obsession with Cheza having the same effect as Cher's obsession with Cheza to Hubb. It gets old after a while, and rather annoying.

Now I haven't seen the whole series, but I really can't think of a time in it where it proves beyond a doubt that Kiba cares for Cheza as a person and not a way to get to paradise.

I think in the beginning it started off as something else but as time went on it all changed. Tsume and Hige aren't as obsessed with finding paradise as Kiba, none of them are, but you can tell they still want to go. In the beginning of the story you felt like you could connect with Kiba and his need to get to paradise, but over time he's become more reckless and...his attitude has hardened. Kinda miss the old Kiba, but I think his change in attitude is a good progression for the story.

I kind of see it in a Darcia/Hamona kind of way. If anything were to happen to Cheza, he'd self-destruct. Maybe not in the same manner, but very similar. His actions are very immature at times, but all he knows is to search for Paradise. He's known it longer than he's known Tsume, Hige, and Toboe. That includes Cheza as well. He set his own priorities, and so his selfish behavior at times reflects that. It's Paradise or bust.
Edit: Me speeling aint too keen toonite. X_O

I don't know.. I'm pretty sure Kiba thinks only for himself, you know? Like in last night's episode (the one where they were going through a snowstorm, and Hige wanted them to slow down because of Blue and Toboe), he wanted to go off by himself and leave the others behind. Like I said, I dunno.

Yea, Kiba's not too good at looking out for others. He takes advantage of the help and protection the pack offers him, but does seem to notice them beyond that, even when they're needing.
I think he feels so strongly for Cheza because he's subconciously using her the way he uses the rest of the pack. In some way they're all part of him achieving his goal.

See, I didn't see that episode. *is on Wolf's Rain strike so that when she buys the DVDs, she won't have seen them all and then it'll be a surprise with each new episode* Shame on Kiba if he wanted to abandon his pack! Shame shame on him!

He does have the tendency to use everyone around him, including his pack, to get to Paradise, but then again it is something he feels very strongly about and always will. Last nights episode definitely showed that, and I think that Kiba is a great guy at heart, its just that for him his only future is Paradise so whether he notices or not he gets very reckless and uses them all to get there. The pack is more stressful around each other then they were before, and not just between Tsume and Kiba.
