And we should all give thanks that WR had such an open ending, it was that lack of definitive answers that first drew me to this board back in October...and i'm sure that was the reason many others joined as well. Yep, it’s rare that a series leaves you with so many unanswered questions, but that’s one of the reasons why Wolf’s Rain is so great…it’s left open so people can interpret the end to their own likings…which leaves a mystical quality about the series as a whole.

Actualy it is a Japanese film maker tradition to leave the audience asking questions.

Actualy it is a Japanese film maker tradition to leave the audience asking questions. Yes, but a lot of other anime answer all the questions, and if they leave some, WR leaves more.

i agree, and that's one of the main reasons americans either hate or love anime. being raised as americans, we are used to stories with happy endings, and some people might get frustrated if a series ends unclearly or not the way they expected it to.

Explain how there is no paradise, u really baffled me. Well, hello !If you saw the last episode, then you'd realize there's no paradiseBesides, even if Kiba WAS able to open it,what's paradise without loved ones to care for, right? All his friends...died.

Well, helloo! If you saw the last episode, then you'd realize there's no paradise. actually... that's debateable... SPOILERS: sure, they don't find a PHYSICAL Paradise at the end, but it could be argued there still was a Paradise, altho more metaphorical than physical in nature. if it hadn't been for the search for Paradise the four wolves would never had met eachother, Kiba would never have met Cheza, Hige would have never met Blue, Hubb and Cher would never have gotten back together, and Quent wouldn't have had a chance to put his bitterness aside. while it's not something physical it could be argued that by searching for a physical Paradise they found their own personal Paradise. to quote Joseph Campbell, "the destination is the journey."

Well, in the episode “Song of Sleep” when all the wolves dream about paradise we see each one dream about something different – except for Kiba – we don’t get to see his dream, it just continues on with the episode, so maybe Kiba’s paradise is the journey of trying to get to paradise – like Mugetsu quoted Joseph Campbell “The destination is the journey.” So if one was to take this approach – Kiba has already found his paradise.

Well that is right, many people here (and me) think when it showed Kibas paradise it just showed him where he was, sleeping next to Cheza with his pack, being pet.

I actually thought that the ---(spoilers)--- paradise fount in episode 30 was not the same paradise the wolves would have gotten to had they gotten to the end of the lunar flower path in a earlier episode. I think that paradise was simply the world that the ancestors of the wolves came from, and that the paradise in episode 30 was the one Cheza had to create simply because the world was dieing because of Jagara's failed attempt at stealing the wolves paradise. Then, right before Cheza sprouts or blooms in episode 30, she tells Kiba to find her in the new world, then the paradise he wants - then she bloomed. That's why I thought that episode 30 wasn't actually paradise, only Cheza breathing life into the world again, and giving Kiba another chance at finding his paradise since all the other characters changed besides him. (from what we know)
