Hello all you happy people. I have a question for all of you. This is not ment to offend anyone and may be too much for the younger peoples. Should there be actual scenes of sexual acts in Anime? I personally think that it is o.k. to imply that sex happens between two characters,or more if the situation calls for it, but to actually show the act, going a bit far.(i.m.o.) Come on, we all know what goes on, Insert tab A into slot B, turn until click, so we don't really need to see it. If you want to see naked peoples, you have the internet, obviously, so get your jollies somewhere else. I have to wonder about someone who prefers animated girls/boys to the real thing So, theres the question, fill in the blanks, and don't offend anyone. Lets play nice ;D

Should there be actual scenes of sexual acts in Anime? Why shouldn't there be ? Animated films/tv shows are a medium for telling a story and if thats what the storytellers want to tell why shouldnt they be allowed to. How far they go is their perogative. Thats not even thinking about hentai which makes the debate kinda redundant. Thats an industry in itself.

If the scene calls for sex between characters than sure. But, just like with non-animated movies or shows, cheaply added sex/sexual acts are cheasy and easily identified as unneccessary by veiwers. So, as long as it's not just randomly shoved in to give viewers some T & A, than I think it's perfectly acceptable.
I personally don't find it as graphic simply because animated characters generally (not w/o exceptions) don't do it for me, so that may influence my opinion. Maybe people who find it, er stimulating, think otherwise.

Again, if it adds to the story, then sure, why not?
Everyone likes a little fanservice now and again.
And it's good for the anime industry. Sex sells, as we're all aware.

-Ah, Should there be sex in anime?-
I think the real question is-Should there NOT be sex in anime?-
Just kidding just kidding, but yeah I agree with what has been said.I don't think there's a problem with having sex scenes in anime,or any animated film for that matter.

so long as it's labled as having adult content why not?
anime is a medium for entertainment just like live action is. just because the US and a couple other places has grown up with the assumption "animation = kids stuff" doesn't mean the rest of the world has or that we should try to limit what can and can't be made in an animated medium in another country based on our local values.

well.... lots of people forget that there are lots of.... younger eyes.... that might want to read the mangas. then there are the parants that don't want their kids reading porn and the like (like my mom) and well...... my answer would be no. there should not be any sex in anime.
yes, i have a very deprived life.

Well, that makes the parents responsible to find out what's in the manga/anime in question before letting their kids have access to it. Other people, mature people (or at least 'of age'), enjoy it, and buy it. Just because some irresponsible parent can't be bothered to find out what their kids are reading/watching, should that then restrict what has already become a very popular industry?

I think it should be allowed. Besides, America seems to be the only country that seems to still think that sex and violence corrupt young minds, which is incorrect.

If I did not, I wouldn't inquire as to your reasoning. I'd merely say you were wrong and go on. I'm only trying to see things from your perspective, trying to be rational on the subject. You didn't have to take offense to it. It was hardly meant that way...only to further the discussion. If you're willing to submit your opinion to the public eyes, you should also be willing to stand by your opinion, and complaining because people disagree or contest it or press you to explain doesn't exactly lend credibility to future comments. Now...care to discuss the topic of this thread further? Or just drop your two cents and run?
