It is an estremely difficult task to convince others that anime is not only for kids and that is not always evil vs good. They will never understand it until they actually see it. I fell in love with anime without the sex scenes etc. It is a very risky move if anime creators would include sex scenes into their animes. It is true that sex is a natural thing that should not be prohibited but it was be done carefully. Personally i wouldn't mind the sex scenes as long as they are pertinent to the plot. I usually try to keep them seperate. i agree totally.......anime is not just for kids. alot of adults read it as well. i dont mind the sex scenes as long as they keep it to a small amount.

Anyway, it all opinion. If it's just random graphic sex with no meaning, then i won't watch it. But some will. Anime (most of the time) with the exception of like shaman king, yugioh, pokemon, and so on..... are usually rated 13+ or 16+ so there is a warning.
To the person who said younger ppl willl watch anime/manga and see sex, so there shouldn't be any sex in it, i agree with stray pup. Its the parents job to prevent that....... and theres always a rating on manga.anime (OT: older teen) and so on.

Sex in anime can be implied. I don't think anime needs to go too explicit with sex and nudity. There's real gross mindless pornography for those who actually pursue watching anime just for that sort of content.
There are several different audience for anime ranging from very young to older more mature viewers. Treat anime like non-animated shows. Give it a rating, give it a decent chance, and focus on the story.

It should work the same way in anime. There should only be sex when you're trying to show how two of the characters are so in love with eachother, that they go to their physical limits to prove it. And as far as how graphic it should be goes, it just depends on the how the artist wants to do it. Wheather they want to show every bit of body or cover them up with a blanket, it's their choice. Tis also the audiences' on wheather they wish to see such things or not. The labels on the anime tell you right off the bat "Okay guys, there's going to be cursing, violence, oh, there's a scene here where they get nakid and do it, blah blah." So, you already knew it was going to be there and if you don't want to see it... Mreh, just press fast forward or go and refresh your popcorn or whatever. So, I think it's okay for sex to be in anime. Wheather you wish to accept and see it is your choice.

It doesn't matter what rating it is, people under age will still watch it.

In my experience there's no such thing as a mature 14-year-old, but I'll let it slide.

You don't know how mischevious some teens are. It doesn't matter what rating it is, people under age will still watch it. If some kid is really THAT interested in sex, they'll find some way to get a hold of that kind of material. As long as the rating system is upheld and followed and the "must be 18 or older" rule is applied for really graphic ones, than stores are doing all that's required of them to keep that stuff out of the hands of young kids and teens.

"You don't know how mischevious some teens are. It doesn't matter what rating it is, people under age will still watch it. "
That wasn't my point. My point was, there's a warning there. If the child/teenager doesn't want to see that stuff, they read it and put it down. If they WANT to see it, then that's up to them, isn't it?
It's ridiculous to say that there shouldn't be anything inappropriate in anime just incase young people watch it.

Do you think that there is a child/teenager out there that sees the rating and doesn't take it because is only for "mature" people? That is besides the point. I agree with you that just because of some horny child/teenager that there shouldn't be any rated "R" stuff in anime. Like the lady from the simpsons said: "children are the future, the present is ours"(I'm not sure if those are the exact words)

The fact that the quote is from the simpsons would remove all of its integrity in a normal arguement.
