i couldn't agree more, Scarred. ;D as for comparing anime series, i wouldn't say that FMA and Inuyasha are identical. Inuyasha is much more fantastic while FMA connects with real world history. there actually was a time period when alchemists tried to create a philosopher's (or sorceror's if you prefer Harry Potter ) stone.

Yeah i feel that way too. The only similarities they realy have is searching for something, and an "interesting" array of characters.

I ordered FMA cause i thought it was a great anime ( and i have people to blame if it doesn't turn to be ), and then i read that some people here were comparing it to Inuyasha...i don't like how that show has become. I only watched no more than 10 eps, but i can say that the first eps seemed nice, then the story became a soap opera...

First off, understand that you can rest assured because from what I have seen FMA is nothing like Inuyasha. All I was saying is the concept of FMA could have been played out just like Inuyasha was. For instance, (mild spoiler) both animes revolve around the quest of searching for a certain item. Inuyasha has over one hundred episodes while FMA has only 51. Inuyasha is riddled with filler episodes, you know episodes that really have nothing to do with the main quest. FMA has a few of those, but not many and the ones they do have or way better than Inuyasha. So what I was trying to say was that FMA could have become another Inuyasha, but it didn't. FMA is in an entirely different league than Inuyasha. The only thing I was trying to compare was how they both could have been played out with silly, uneeded filler episodes which are okay, but I think Inuyasha has far too many, and the main story gets lost in them all.

I would choose GITS over FMA but that's just me. Same here- in terms of music, animation, story, and especially the characters, i prefer GITS to FMA. Not being mean to FMA, but i think GITS has a little more substance. That, and it has the most kick ass theme song in the world.

I don't want to be killed for saying this but I like Outlaw Star better than either one, possibly better than WR. OS was what I watched all the time till WR, FMA and GITS came around and I still watch it all the time, when I can that is.
I didn't know the opening was in Russian. I should look into this stuff more often.

there's russian in WR, too. remember the map of the forest of death Cher looked at in episode 9? the places' names were written in russian. Yoko Kanno has a thing for languages, as we can see from the WR soundtrack. she even makes up her own in Cycle by (possibly) blending other languages together.
