But when you’re in the military the drinking age doesn’t apply to you – you can still get an alcoholic beverage even if you’re underage, so they have already considered that aspect. No, actually, the drinking age does apply to you in the military as long as you're in the US and not within 50 miles of an international border. Armed forces in Mexico, for example, can drink underage, as can forces in Texas, 50 miles from the Mexico border. But a troop in..say...Nebraska, would have to abide by US age laws for drinking.

Well, as a fellow 14 year old, i believe that is quite disturbing, or you are making it up. I drank when I was 14.Well, not a lot and not often, but every once in awhile I'd have a wine cooler. No real harm in that. I probably drank more then than now since I can't really stand the taste of it alcohol anymore.

I like tequila, as long as it's good tequila. Not El Toro or anything. You do the lemon and the salt and tequila is quite good. Vodka with cranberry juice or orange juice is also good, as is Jello-shots made with green apple Pucker and apple Jell-O.
The majority of my drinking has been done post-21st birthday. I did some tequila shots over the summer and then went to this absolutely horrible party afterward...lol. That was fun, actually.

very rarely do i drink, although almost everyone i know does. it's like the biggest thing to do in my small school. anyway, why i tend not to drink is because I just dislike the way it makes me act. it's not fun, I have done some stupid things while intoxicated, which involves slapping one of my better friends ( she wasn't drunk, I was) and I got my butt kicked for it, by some of my other drunk friends and driving like an idiot, running off the road and nearly slamming my mothers car into someone's house.. since then, i haven't partaked in many parties, because I just dislike the way others and myself act around that stuff, but hey im not trying to sound like a straight or anything, but yeah during the two times I've been wasted, I f**ked shit up badly.

Well, I was told otherwise from some friends of mine that are in the military, but they could have been misinformed, or they could have been doing it “under the table.” Knowing them though they were probably doing it under the table - they were never good at fallowing rules.

Heh...yeah. I researched it a while back and it used to be that draftees could drink at any age in the military, but back in the 1980s, MADD got on their asses about it and so it had to be changed. I'm not sure if this is just the army, or if it's for all branches of the armed forces. A lot of the bases allow the "under the table" as long as you don't talk about it and don't get caught, which I understand. Especially if things were that way once before.

Wow. First and foremost, congratulations on digging up a seven-month old thread. Lord knows you're the first to do that. Second, hilarious. Classic. Drunk fifteen year old slips and busts ass getting off the bus. You seem very proud of yourself. What was it? The school bus? The city bus? Underage and leaving the house smashed. Kids today have reached new heights of idiocy. Congratulations. You've earned my respect.

He told me that in the Navy atleast you can drink at twenty-one. we had a corporal of the military come in and he told us that as long as it was in a military bunker or base you could drink at 18 but once u left for home or they let you go have fun in town it goes right back to being illegal

I think it should be lowered to 18. Some people are fascinated by drinking just because it's illegal. A teacher I had said that in Germany, the drinking age is 16 and the driving age is 21. That's pretty late to be driving, but he said by the time people were 21 they'd gotten most of their heavy drinking kicks out unless they were just alcoholics, and it really reduced the drunk driver rate. But then again maybe that's because they take your license away for life there if you're caught.
